Lignin Institute

The mission of the association is to achieve public awareness and recognition of lignin as a safe and useful product. In pursuit of this purpose, the association will:

Provide an effective and efficient means for the collection of information on the characteristics, qualities, production, sales and uses of lignin products and for the dissemination of this information to appropriate publics.

Provide a forum where manufacturers can discuss common concerns and recommend practices for the safe manufacturing and handling of lignin products.

Address technical issues and conduct research related to lignin products.

Keep members informed of legislative and regulatory proposals or actions concerning the industry and provide an effective channel of communication between manufacturers and government.

 

 

Summary

The Lignin Institute is an international trade association composed of producers and users of lignin- based products. Its members exchange information on product specifications, applications, safety and regulatory control of the product and its uses. The Institute provides information on the many beneficial uses of lignin to interested parties by way of its website and numerous publications.

There is a constant desire to create value-added products made from lignin starting materials. The Institute supports growth of the industry by organizing seminars at meetings of members to apprise them of new developments and by disseminating information on product applications to customers.
